THE WOODLANDS, TX - A "Birdies for BridgingApps"" golf tournament will be held on Monday, Feb. 18 at the Palmer Course at The Woodlands Country Club, located at 100 Grand Fairway Drive in Cochran's Crossing The Woodlands. Proceeds will benefit BridgingApps, a program to bridge assistive technology for communication and learning for the county's special needs community.
The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for the closest to the pin and the longest drive, and lunch will be served. The fee is $175 per player, or $600 for a team of four.

"The Woodlands Kiwanis Club"" will host the 29th Kid's Fishing Tournament this Saturday September 1 at Creekwoood Park, across McCullough Junior High School in The Village of Panther Creek in The Woodlands. Registration is free and will begin at 7 am. The event will take place from 8 to 10 am.
There will be free hot dogs and sodas. Bait will also be free, but participants must bring their own fishing poles. Participants must be younger than 16 years old. All participants will receive trophies and those who catch more fishes and the biggest fish will receive a special trophy.

Legends Sports Complex, which is located at 602 Pruitt Road just south of Sawdust Road, plans to open its doors in January.
