THE WOODLANDS, TX - A "Birdies for BridgingApps"" golf tournament will be held on Monday, Feb. 18 at the Palmer Course at The Woodlands Country Club, located at 100 Grand Fairway Drive in Cochran's Crossing The Woodlands. Proceeds will benefit BridgingApps, a program to bridge assistive technology for communication and learning for the county's special needs community.

The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for the closest to the pin and the longest drive, and lunch will be served. The fee is $175 per player, or $600 for a team of four.

BridgingApps is a program in Houston administered by Easter Seals. The goal of the Leadership Montgomery County (LMC) Class of 2013 is to bring BridgingApps to Montgomery County so special needs residents of Cochran's Crossing The Woodlands and The Woodlands can be trained on the use of various digital tools and software such as smart phones and tablets to communicate with the outside world when they are unable to speak.
