Construction on a new mixed-use development in Conroe is about to start. Located near The Woodlands, the project is slated to include hotel sites, a multifamily project, and office and retail space.

The Houston-based NewQuest Crosswell is about to close on the purchase of the 118-acre land. The new mixed-use development in Conroe will be called Conroe Waterfront Center and will be built on a prime spot four miles north of Camp Strake and eight miles north of The Woodlands.

The multi-family project will be a luxury development by the Atlanta-based Buckhead Investment Partners Inc. The company has announced the development of 300 up to 350 units in the future community at Conroe Waterfront Center.

Despite the news was announced some months ago, now it’s official - Houston Methodist hospital in The Woodlands just held its groundbreaking ceremony last October 21. More details about the upcoming medical center were disclosed at the ceremony.

The Houston Methodist hospital system is about to officially start construction on a 193-bed full-services hospital in the called Texas No. 1 master-community. It will be located at the southeast corner of Texas 242 and Interstate 45. It is the eighth medical center in the Houston Methodist system.

The 470,000-square-feet building is expected to break ground early next year and open to public in 2017. It will have a cost of $328 million and will include a 135,000-square-feet medical office building

October 22 has been selected as the date for the grand opening of H-E-B fourth Woodlands store. The H-E-B new store in The Woodlands location will be at 26500 Kuykendahl Road, in the new Creekside Park Village Center, the 100-acre center with more than 80,000 square feet of retail and office space.

The 100,000 square feet H-E-B new store in The Woodlands schedule is from 6 a.m to midnight. The store will have some products for sale such as locally-grown production, dairy, flowers and herbs; as well as H-E-B Organics; Central Market products and H-E-B’s Primo Picks.

New medical facilities near Exxon Mobil campus are already scheduled to open next year. They will be part of The Johnson Development Corp.’s latest master-planned community in Spring - called Harmony.

Located at the entrance of the master-planned community in Spring, the 16,000-square-foot project is going to be part of Texas Children’s Hospital - it will be the Pediatrics area of the renowned medical center the one which will be situate on a 7,500-square-feet lot and is expected to open in spring. The 8,500-square-feet Elite Care ER’s space will receive the public in fall 2015.

Renovations are still part of The Woodlands Resort since they have just planned to use some land to be redeveloped into residential use.

Redevelopment of 12 acres of the The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center is the next project of the hotel after a $65 million renovation that is about to be completed. Despite the type of renovation to be made remains unknown, it has been already confirmed that The Woodlands Resort redevelopment will make some of the older hotel rooms to be closed and use of the land for the upcoming project, according to Greg Parsons, vicepresident and general manager of hospitality at the resort.
