THE WOODLANDS, TX - The Texas Gulf Coast chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will hold their annual Light the Night in The Woodlands on Market Street Oct. 20.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will feature face painting, games, food and more. Last year the event raised $380,000. More than 80 teams have already registered for this year's event. Tina Daugherty, executive coordinator of Interfaith of The Woodlands, said this year's goal is $450,000.

The 2-mile Light the Night in The Woodlands walk will begin at 7:15 p.m. from Lake Robbins Drive, up the Waterway, around the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and back to Market Street.

The Woodlands Waterway Cruisers, which provide catered dinner cruises for groups and corporate events, will present its Fall Series of "Evenings on Board"" dinner cruises September 22 and 29, October 6, 13 and 27, 2012.

Each ""Evenings on Board"" dinner cruise will board at 7:30 p.m. at 1212 Lake Robbins Drive, adjacent to Landry's Seafood Restaurant on The Woodlands Waterway, in the heart of The Woodlands.

Legions of volunteers will spread out in The Woodlands this Saturday, October 12 to serve seniors in the community in a program by the same name. The 'Serving Our Seniors' in The Woodlands service program aids elderly residents with various projects they're physically unable to do.

Originated by Interfaith of The Woodlands, members of philanthropic organizations, employees of local corporations, and residents, have been participating in the 9-year program initiated in 2005.
