Garrison, 35 and a Spring resident, has been named the new concierge manager at Market Street's Concierge Desk. She will serve as an on-site information specialist, assisting shoppers with directions, as well as complimentary services ranging from helping guests make restaurant recommendations to suggesting gift ideas and finding specialty items, according to a press release by Market Street.
Garrison started her new position Sept. 10. She came from Anadarko Petroleum, where she worked as a division order analyst. Garrison wanted a new career path. This opportunity came about and she snatched it up, eager to help others at Market Street find what they need. ""I have previous experience doing customer service at both Anadarko and Compaq,"" Garrison said. ""Over the last nine years in my work career I have helped over 20,000 people with my customer service skills,"" she said. ""I have helped people that were really dissatisfied with a product or service, and have been able to turn them around and make them happy."" The focus of Garrison's job is the tenants and customers of Market Street. She said she goes into the different businesses, whether it's the restaurants, retailers or other businesses, and becomes familiar with the products or services that they are selling.
""I find out when they are having sales and other information. I pass this information along to my staff so that they are fully informed and knowledgeable about the different businesses,"" Garrison said. ""If customers ask us at the Concierge Desk where they can get a certain pair of shoes, or a particular type of cuisine, we can fully answer their questions."" Garrison also finds out pertinent information on exciting events that are occurring at Market Street and Town Center.
""My staff and I need to be able to convey this type of information as well to customers,"" she said. ""For example, Trick or Treat at Market Street is coming up. I also attend Jazz Fest at Market Street. I have a very cool job. When I have to work late, I am not sitting at a desk hunched over paperwork.""
The most rewarding part of her job is the interaction she has with the customers, Garrison said. ""In addition, I'm fortunate to work with a great group of people,"" she said. The Concierge Desk offers Market Street gift cards, information on retailer sales and events, group and event planning assistance and car and limousine rental assistance. It also houses an ATM machine and serves as a lost and found and bag check. Located across the street from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Market Street is bounded by Lake Woodlands Drive, Lake Robbins Drive, Grogan's Mill Road and Six Pines Drive.
