THE WOODLANDS, TX - This Memorial Day, the Proctor and Atkins families of Alden Bridge will be hosting a lemonade stand from noon to 5 p.m. on the corner of Alden Bridge Drive and Crownridge Drive, near Woodlands Oak Church.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The two families wanted to teach their seven children, ages 1-17, about the real meaning of Memorial Day.

"We want them to understand that Memorial Day is more than the start of summer,"" Kenneth Proctor said. ""It needs to be remembered for what it is. It's about the sacrifice people made for our freedoms. Freedom isn't free, and I want my children to understand that.""

The 9th annual Houston's Wine and Food Week returns to The Woodlands June 3–9 with a variety of festivities and events designed to attract food and wine lovers.
