THE WOODLANDS, TX - On March 29, the 2014 Woodlands CrawPHish Festival will be held at Town Green Park from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Bring family and friends to celebrate this event complete with live music, delicious crawfish, and lots of fun activities while raising funds and awareness to help find a cure for Pulmonary Hypertension.

The annual event to raise awareness for PH started back in 1999 by Jack Stibbs, a resident of The Woodlands. Stibbs knows all too well the seriousness of the condition and the importance of detecting PH early on. His daughter was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension as a young child and was told she would not live to the age of five.

THE WOODLANDS, TX - Good news for The Woodlands residents. After the Township's meeting this past Wednesday, an Economic Development Agreement was approved, which will grant $2.3 million plus interest, which will be funded with sales tax receipts created by the business, to the Costco Wholesale Corporation to build the first Costco in The Woodlands.

Costco will fund the land purchase, site development and construction costs. This new Costco in The Woodlands will be located on the northeast corner of I-45N and SH 242; across the freeway from WalMart. This $30 million project will span approximately 150,000 square feet, providing both retail sales and warehouse space.

THE WOODLANDS, TX - Richard Kessio and Mary Akor aren't used to running in cold, windy conditions, but that didn't hold them back on Saturday, as they were the first man and woman, respectively, to cross the finish line at The Woodlands Marathon.

Kessio, a native Kenyan who lives and trains in Toledo, Ohio, was the first overall competitor to finish the race, as he checked in with a time of 2:26:28. Akor was the first female athlete to finish with a time of 2:41:16.

Akor, a native Nigerian who lives in La Habra, Calif., said she was happy to be in Texas for the event and that her goal all along was just to take home a victory.
