Debate at The Woodlands Township concluded with an affirmative response to the proposal which grants all senior and disabled residents in The Woodlands a tax exemption status.

The measure will be effective for the 2010 and 2011 tax year.

Although a non-binding resolution, the Township acted out with a sensitive and conscientious attitude, and responded positively to the petition which carried 1,129 signatures from senior community members.

Despite the criticism from other community members the motion was passed.
