Select pools now open for pre-season weekend use in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX - Summer is almost here and The Woodlands Township will be opening select pools as part of pre-season weekend through Sunday, June 2, 2013. All Township pools will also be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2013, from noon to 6 pm. The regular pool season begins Friday, June 7, 2013. The follow pools will be open on Saturdays, noon to 6 p.m., Sundays, 1 to 6 p.m., and Memorial Day, noon to 6 p.m.:

New Proposal foresees Patrol Zones in Town Center and Villages

The proposal is under consideration by the The Woodlands Township, the initiative envisions the setting up of patrol zones for the villages and The Town Center in The Woodlands.

Currently the plan is under the Sherriff's scrutiny, awaiting for approval. The proposal is to create a single Woodlands Township Division within the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, which would include a patrol zone in each village as well as one in The Town Center. Each Village would be in custody of four deputies interfacing with the association and 10 for the Town Center.
An additional 15 staff members are needed to accomplish the plan, including 10 patrol deputies, two traffic officers, two detention officers and a lieutenant.

The Woodlands Program "Home for the Holidays"" has a deadline that is approaching fast. It is an incentive program which awards a $2,000 Woodforest National Bank MasterCard and a free one-year family membership to the South Montgomery County YMCA to buyers of select new homes in The Woodlands.
