Save the date on Wednesday, October 24 from 4 ; 9 pm for Oktoberfest at The Woodlands Mall, in Town Center, The Woodlands, Texas. hosted by the Feast of Artisans Farmers Market. The event is free and will be held next to Barnes and Noble.

For adults, several local breweries including Southern Star Brewery in Conroe along with No Label Brewery and Karbach Brewing Co. from Houston will participate with samples of their products. They will also be selling their merchandise (t-shirts, etc.).

There will be fun children's activities including picking out a jack-o-lantern in the pumpkin patch and face painting. Vendors will have their usual Artisans Farmers Market for visitors to be able to shop while listening to live music.

THE WOODLANDS, TX - A combination of home sales increase and a the lowest home inventory in six years has helped boost the existing homes prices for the eighth consecutive month in October, according to the National Association of Realtors, including the homes in Houston.

The sale of existing homes increased 2.1 percent from September to October and 10.9 percent from last year.

The average home price of $187,600 for all types of homes, including single-family homes, condos, townhomes, etc, increased 11.1 percent from a year ago. The national median price last posted eight consecutive months of annual gains before the crash -- from October 2005 to May 2006.

The Woodlands Development Company and The Dinerstein Companies of Houston have announced plans to build a 393 unit luxury urban apartment community in The Woodlands Waterway Square District. It will be one of the first Green multifamily properties in the country and will be built LEED Certified Silver.

This new development will be called Millennium Woodlands, it will be a 344 square foot project bordered by Timberloch Place to the north, Woodlands Parkway to the south, Six Pines Drive to the west and Waterway Avenue to the east. These apartments will be surrounding a parking structure with 613 parking spaces for residents. There will also be 21 surface parking spaces available.
