THE WOODLANDS, TX- St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School in The Woodlands has made the list of the country's highest-performing schools - joining a select group chosen for the U.S. Department of Education's National Blue Ribbon Schools Program.
The program has recognized America's top public and private elementary, middle and high schools since 1982.
For this little school with big ambitions, the recognition is major honor. On a list of only 269 schools nationwide, St. Anthony's was further distinguished in the ""Exemplary High Performing Schools"" category.
School pastor, Tom Rafferty, made the announcement to the student body during a Friday Mass service. Principal Renee B. Nunez declared a day of commemoration, ""Blue Day,"" for the school shortly afterwards. St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School continues to celebrate its accomplishment.
