THE WOODLANDS, TX - The Woodlands Waterway is rapidly changing with two office towers under construction along with a possible third 20-story office complex and a proposed hotel in The Woodlands.
The Woodlands Development Co. is in talks to build a 20-story, 400,000-to 500,000-square-foot office tower on the Woodlands Waterway.
Currently under construction is a 550,000-square-foot 31-story office tower to be occupied by Anadarko Petroleum Corp., just west of the independent oil and gas company's 30-story headquarters. The new building, at 1201 Lake Robbins, is scheduled to be completed in early 2014 and will house up to 1,700 workers.
Also under construction is an 11-story, 232,774-square foot office tower at 3 Waterway Square. The building, located at the corner of Woodloch Forest Drive and Lake Robbins Drive, is 90 percent leased and is scheduled for completion in mid-2013.
Also under construction is Phase II of the Millennium Waterway luxury apartments along Waterway Avenue, which is planned for completion in late 2013 or early 2014.
Several new office complexes are under construction on Lake Woodlands, including a 12-story, 300,000-square-foot tower, which is part of a 77-acre 10-building office complex called Research Forest Lakeside.
The initial phase of the development is an 8-story, 195,000-square-foot office complex, which already is being cleared for construction.
The second part of the project will be retail and residential, with most likely five restaurants built on Lake Woodlands and two off the water. A high-end limited service hotel, with less than 200 rooms, also is planned for the development, between the office building and the retail and residential locations.
