VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa Coming to The Woodlands New club to feature indoor/outdoor resort pools, spa, kid's club.

VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa, a family membership facility, will soon begin construction of an 87,000-square-foot club and spa on a 12.4-acre site on Technology Forest Drive in The Woodlands directly across from the new Fox Network Center-Houston, according to Dan Leverett, vice president of commercial for The Woodlands Development Company.

Construction is scheduled to begin soon, with opening planned for late 2008. Both indoor and outdoor amenities will be featured at VillaSport. The outdoor areas include two unique pools. One will be a kid's pool complex with two water slides and a zero entry area plus adjacent lap pool. For adults, there will be a 25-yard, five-lane lap pool with an adjoining hot tub. There will also be a poolside VillaCafe. The VillaSport Field House will be an 18,000-square-foot, air-conditioned facility for year-round indoor soccer and other sports. VillaSport, a family-owned business, is excited to be bringing this new concept in family fitness to The Woodlands,"" said Joe Syufy, Vice-Chairman and CEO. ""Construction of the building will start just after the new year."" The VillaSport building will feature a stone and stucco exterior on a forested site. Indoors, there will be a full spa with eight therapy rooms and two rooms for pedicures and manicures, fully stocked with robes and slippers, as well as a retail shop offering health and beauty products.

Well-appointed men's, women's and family locker rooms will be located adjacent to the indoor pool along with hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms. There will also be an indoor zero-entry pool for kids with a water slide and ""plunge pool,"" as well as an indoor lap pool. VillaKids, which accounts for 15% of the club (or 13,000 square feet), will be dedicated to kid's activities, including two studios, indoor and outdoor play structures, plus a kid's gym. The weight and cardio fitness equipment will be state-of-the-art and approximately 100 weekly classes will be offered in the five exercise studios.
