The new Interfaith of The Woodlands Veggie Village Donation Garden plot in The Woodlands, Tx has been selected.
Interfaith of The Woodlands Veggie Village Donation Garden is scheduled to be located at Alden Bridge Sports Park on Highway 242, adjacent to a Woodlands Township Community Garden.
The Woodlands Township Board voted in November to extend a Park Use Agreement to Interfaith of The Woodlands for a quarter-acre space for a minimum of five years.
The Woodlands Township agreed to clear, fill and grade the area, and provide plumbing to the site and fencing.
Dr. Ann Snyder, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands, stated ""Interfaith is extremely fortunate to have the support of The Woodlands Township. Through this partnership, the garden will be a welcoming place where people work and learn together to provide fresh food for the hungry through Interfaith of The Woodlands Food Pantry.""
""We are very excited about this garden, which will provide fresh produce for the Food Pantry. In addition, Veggie Village will provide earth-friendly educational opportunities to compliment what the township is already doing so well,"" added Sylvia Campbell, member of the Veggie Village planning committee.
Within the next couple months, the groundbreaking of the location is planned to occur.
The Veggie Village project is scheduled to depend on the support from the whole community.
Not only will assistance tending and harvesting the garden, but individuals to give the produce to Interfaith of The Woodlands and master gardeners to assist in educating people of all ages about garden.
