Assistant general manager of community services for The Woodlands Township, John Powers, told township board members Wednesday that two locations are being considered by The Woodlands Development Company. One is a 27-acre site by the Research Forest Park and Ride on Gosling Road, and the other, is a 35-acre site on the south end of Gosling.
The committee received presentations on April 14 from The Woodlands Lacrosse Club, Woodlands Rugby Club and Texas Rush Soccer Club for the different facilities. President of The Woodlands Lacrosse Club, John Rizutti, said each club is expecting to grow by 10 percent a year.

Rizutti predicted that new facilities in The Woodlands could host 30 to 40 events each year and attract more than 7,000 players participating to the area.
The township has averaged about $3 million to $5 million a year in spending on parks over the past 10 years and the need for building other parks is diminishing.
The township board also approved the maintenance agreement for the proposed expansion of Alden Bridge Sports Park. The 2.5-acre expansion will provide enough land to build at least six new lighted fields, and additional land could be added later.
