According to The Woodlands Children's Museum in The Woodlands, Tx, 2012 is denoted as the Year of the Dragon and they have very big plans for the community on Saturday, January 28, to celebrate.
The Year of the Dragon is about energy, charisma, luck at love and warm-heartedness, according to Chinese belief.
The Dragon symbolizes good at giving orders, natural born leaders and doing what is necessary to remain on top.
Angela Colton, Executive Director for the Museum, stated ""We have some very energetic and charismatic activities planned that will usher in the Year of the Dragon much to the delight of children. New Rising Star Dance Studio Director, Xing Chen, will have his students perform a Dragon Dance, and the children attending will be able to make masks, Chinese lanterns and enjoy some very creative play.""
Also, Mr. Chen's team is scheduled to perform Tai-Chi and Chinese Martial Arts between 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Colton stated, ""This is going to be a huge event. Young families will have a great time together learning more about Chinese New Year and Chinese traditions. Children love learning through experience and we will have so much to offer.""
The Woodlands Children's Museum is located in The Woodlands by luxurious subdivisions like Grogan's Forest and Grogan's Mill.
