The local Earth Day celebration was hosted on April 10th, 2010 at The Woodlands High School. The Woodlands Township and The Woodlands GREEN,(grass roots environmental education network), a local non-profit organization, hosted the event.
The event featured over 100 booths including 19 Ecology carnival activities. The event also featured performances from Vocal Trash and educational entertainment from Earth Capades.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the first global Earth Day. The Woodlands has the longest-running Earth Day Festival in the entire Greater Houston area.
The Woodlands is a 28,000 acre community located 25 miles north of Midtown Houston.
