St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School of The Woodlands has been named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
The school was among 269 schools nationwide to receive the honor, and was selected because its standardized test score in reading and math placed it in the top 15 percent of schools in the nation.
""This is not only an accomplishment for the students and staff in the school today, but for all the staff, students and families that have walked through our halls over the years,"" said Father Tom Rafferty, school pastor.
Tuesday, Sept. 11 has been declared ""Blue Day,"" celebrating the school's recognition by Principal Renee B. Nunez.
St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School is located in The Woodlands' Village of Alden Bridge.
