THE WOODLANDS, TX - Several students and administrators at Lone Star College-Montgomery, along with the support of local Rotarians, are making plans to form a new Rotaract club.

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based, and they are sponsored by a local Rotary club. The Rotary Club of The Woodlands is already on board in support of the Rotaract Club of LSC-Montgomery.

Area residents interested in joining the club or learning more about it are encouraged to attend a club meeting, which are on the first and third Monday of each month, at 6 p.m., in room B102 (in the Health Science Center) at LSC-Montgomery.

As one of Rotary's most significant and fastest-growing service programs, with more than 8,400 clubs in about 170 countries and geographical areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon. All Rotaract efforts begin at the local, grassroots level, with members addressing their communities' physical and social needs while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.
