The Woodlands homeowner's group aproved on Wenesday the $92,000 proposal to add wireless Internet systems to Bear Branch, Creekwood, Shadowbend, Ridgewood, Sawmill and Falconwing parks, expanding the curent system already installed on Alden Bridge, Lakeside, Cranebrook and Forestgate parks.

While residents visiting the recreation spots may find the service a useful amenity, park officials will also benefits from the system, as William Pham, information technology manager for the Community Associations of The Woodlands said, the wireless plan would allow rangers to access reports and other systems remotely from their vehicles.

Although the paln was initially aproved on 2008, implemantation was delayed due to the transition of services to The Woodlands Township. Now the group has given the green light to the project. The wireless signal and hardware would be leased through ICTX Wave Media, the same company that has put fiber optic cabling throughout The Woodlands and Shenandoah.
