THE WOODLANDS, TX - YMCA The Woodlands has expanded its class offerings for home school students including PE, Eco Quest and Computer Class.

Home School PE Class is a quality physical education program for home schooled youth, ages 3 - 12.The class will meet twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, 1:00 - 2:30pm at the Shadowbend YMCA location in The Woodlands. The Fall semester ends December 12. Students will rotate through a variety of age appropriate sports and training disciplines with focus on fundamental skills and team building. The program curriculum may include aerobics, tumbling, climbing wall, sports, aquatics, strength and conditioning and Presidential fitness testing and training.

In addition to the PE class, the YMCA also offers Eco Quest, an Outdoor Environmental Education class for Home School students, ages 6 - 12. Students have the opportunity to work individually and in groups as they learn about nature and the environment. Eco Quest is offered at the Creekside Y Outdoor Adventure Center. Class meets on Fridays, 10am - Noon. The fall session begins the week Sept 6 and continues thru Nov. 1.

A new Home School Computer class has been added to the schedule. For students ages 6-12, the class is offered Thursdays, 11:15am - 12:15pm at the Creekside YMCA. This class will help school age kids develop a technology vocabulary and extend creative abilities through computer art, music and educational activities. Course curriculum includes robotics and animation activities that allow students to actively learn in a positive and collaborative environment. The new session begins September 5.
