On April 12 and 13, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival will Showcase Mexico! with invited Artists, Artisans and Performers. The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival will take place in the heart of The Woodlands, TX for two whole days and will start at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission for the festival will be $10 per adult, Children 12 and under are free of charge.
The Showcase of Mexico will be in Town Green Park and it will present five Mexican Artists that will bring their amazing art which will include Oils, Watercolors, Acrylics and Fine Silverwork. There will also be Mexican Heritage through Musical performances and Mexican Cuisine.
There will be artists such as Maria Barba Attolini who is a well known jeweler, painter and a magnificent metal worker whose specialty is working with gold, silver and precious metals. She designs with a contemporary flair that reflects Mexican style.
Another invited artist is Berta Diaz Mercado who has participated in many art expos in Mexico. She does beautiful watercolor work, she incorporates many aspects of the human form and architectural landscapes as well.
An abstract artist will also showcase in this festival, he is Knut Pani and he uses neutral colored elements found in earth. He founded a printing press named ""El Pez Soluble"" in 1993 in Mexico and it offered workshops for artists from around the world. Knut Pani has represented Mexico in the third Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence Italy and he won the ""Lorenzo il Magnifico"" bronze award for his art.
Vicente Vertiz is also a contemporary artist who is known for his large scale murals and small pieces as well. His work has been seen in places like Mexico, Egypt and Rumania.
Martha Maria Baldit is a performance artist also known in Mexico as the ""Queen of the Shawl"". She does various styles of music such as Norteño, corridos, ballads and banda which are different genres that are reflected in her music.
There will be other guests as well at the Arts Festival, these will include:

- Mariachis Imperial
- La Mesa Mexican Bistro in The Woodlands
The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is still in need of volunteers for this weekend to help in areas such as:
- Gate monitors
- Greeters
- Artist relations
- Children's art
- Student art exhibit
- Surveys

Any volunteer must work a four-hour shift and will receive free admission to the festival and also a festival t-shirt. Charity groups and individuals are welcome to volunteer, all volunteers must be 17 years or older. All guests attending this festival can park in any of the five parking lots on the southwest side. There will also be a closer parking for $5 in The Pavilion's Town Center Garage located at Six Pines Drive.
