Serving The Woodlands and nearby communities for nearly 25 years, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital in The Woodlands, Tx recently broke ground on a new, seven-story patient tower early next year. The cost of the project is roughly $104 million.

Including pre-operation and recovery rooms, waiting areas and sterile processing, Phase One of the 240,000-square-foot expansion is scheduled to add eight state-of-the-art surgical suites and surgical support services.

Also, a patient care unit with 36 beds and a parking garage is set to be added. This addition will bring the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands' total bed count to 288.

Three shelled floors are scheduled to accommodate future growth and may include an expanded Emergency Center, additional patient beds, and clinical support services.

Steve Sanders, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital Chief Executive Officer, stated ""Since 1991, we have invested more than $180 million to respond to the growth and needs of this dynamic market. The greater Montgomery County area is one of the fastest growing areas in the U.S. and it is our responsibility to continue to respond to that growth not only with facilities like the new patient tower, but also technology and a higher level of services.""

For Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, this is the third major expansion project undertaken in the past decade.

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands completed a six-story patient tower in 2003 , and a third medical office building was opened on campus in 2005.

Also, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands continues to expand its medical specialties and services on campus and beyond.

Recently, the hospital opened a new 24-Hour Emergency Services and has established an ongoing relationship with Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, the University of Texas Health Science Center and Mischer Neuroscience Institute.

""We continue to invest in our future to meet the growing needs of our community. We are well on our way to accomplishing our vision to bring a medical center level of care to the communities we serve,"" stated Josh Urban, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital's Chief Operating Officer.

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands is located in The Woodlands by beautiful subdivisions like Cochran's Crossing and East Shore.
