THE WOODLANDS, TX - Four Montgomery County charities have been selected as recipients of Market Street The Woodlands' 2013 ""Change for Charity"" program, an ongoing effort which encourages shoppers to deposit change into one of 68 non-governed parking meters within the shopping and entertainment destination. Every quarter, nickel and dime is metered to better the community and benefit a different organization every three months.

Change collected through the Change for Charity program during the first quarter of 2013 will benefit the Best Buddies Conroe ISD Chapters, an international organization that helps individuals with intellectual disabilities form friendships with their non-disabled peers.

The second-quarter recipient will be St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital, which opened in 2003 as a family-centered care and healing facility where each donation helps shape the future of the innovative, life-saving research and the compassionate healthcare provided to patients and the community.

From July to September, Change for Charity will benefit the Executive Woman's Alliance, an organization of professional women dedicated to providing career enhancement and leadership opportunities to other members of the alliance.

Rounding out the year, the program will benefit Emergency Ministries, an organization that provides on-scene crisis chaplaincy for emergency workers (first-responders) including direct guidance, spiritual support, relationship and substance abuse counseling.
