On Sunday, October 25th, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's annual "Light the Night Walk"" returns to Market Street in The Woodlands, Tx. At 7:00 p.m., the program is set to begin and the walk begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. Light the Night Walk is the country's night to pay tribute and enlightening hope to people battling cancer. Funds that are raised allow scientists to carry on their research. Over the last few years, significant strides have been made with new drugs developed to help battle blood cancers.
Commemorating and celebrating all lives touched by cancer, Light the Night Walk is a national fundraising campaign. Strolling on an evening walk along a two mile route carrying twinkling balloons, civic groups, company teams, neighbors and friends raise money. White balloons stand for survivors, while red balloons stand for supporters and gold balloons are in memory of a life lost. Providing an opportunity to display a name or message, honoring or commemorating a family member or friend with cancer Walkers carry dedication banners. Light the Night is a community celebration with live entertainment, food and family activities, making it a community coming together to support people with cancer, so it's more than a walk. Walks all over the country have raised tens of millions of dollars, in recent years.
The 2 mile walk is set to begin Market Street and end in Market Street as well. The course is set to where it will take the walkers through a relaxing stroll through The Woodlands Town Center and Market Street. Also, the event is set to include live entertainment, activities for the kids including face painting, mascots and refreshments. Families are encouraged to bring the kids and strollers and join the fun, as there will be something for everyone.
Market Street can be found among the center of attractions in The Woodlands, as it's located by The Woodlands Mall, Tinseltown, The Woodlands Waterway, The Woodlands Pavilion and the gorgeous subdivision, East Shore.
