Seniors living in skilled nursing communities, assisted living and living independently are gearing up for the 10th Annual Senior Community Games in The Woodlands, Tx.
Interfaith of The Woodlands, along with community sponsors, is scheduled to host the annual event which is scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 9:00 a.m.
o 2:00 p.m. at Knox Junior High, located at 12104 Sawmill Road.
Regardless of physical ability, this event is designed for all seniors.
The Senior Community Games was developed by a committee of professionals that specialize in the field of aging.
Goals for every activity assures that everyone is a winner.
Events this year include golf hole-in-one, bowling, music trivia and a spelling bee.
The highlight of the day is scheduled to be a talent show.
Strengthening the mind along with the body and promote an active lifestyle regardless of age or circumstance is the overall goal of this event.
All participants are scheduled to receive breakfast, box lunch and a T-shirt.
Also, each senior is scheduled to receive a ribbon, and is scheduled to be afforded the chance to participate and win Bronze, Silver or Gold medals.
