Construction is on track for a late 2013 opening of Segment E of the Grand Parkway, as crews have started work on the roadway through undeveloped areas of Bridgeland, the acclaimed sister community of The Woodlands.
Approximately 3.8 miles of the 15.2-mile extension will traverse Bridgeland as it links Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 290. Much of the drainage system for the new segment is already installed, and construction has now started on main lanes of the Grand Parkway as well as on frontage road on-and-off ramps.
The three additional segments were green-lighted after ExxonMobil's announcement of a new 385-acre campus near the intersection of Interstate 45 and the Hardy Toll Road, minutes away from The Woodlands.
