Montgomery County officials reported 2 probable cases of H1N1 in the County yesterday.

One of them involves a 2-year old from The Woodlands and a 3-year old from an undisclosed location within Montgomery County.

The County deputy emergency management coordinator, Nick Kelly reported that treatment was given early; and stated that there is no reason to associate the case to local schools.

After a quick flu test a t by a local physician, the sample was sent to The Houston Health Department laboratory. Test results identified a new strain of flu virus, a non-subtypeable virus, currently treated as H1N1, according to press release from Montgomery County Judge Alan B. Sadler. The sample was sent to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for confirmation.

The child and his family are reported to be in a healthy condition.
