For the fall 2009 semester, Lone Star College - Montgomery in The Woodlands has announced the hire of 10 new full-time faculty members. Serving more than 10,000 students this fall, these new faces join the 136 full-time faculty members already in place.
President of LSC-Montgomery, Dr. Austin Lane, said ""At LSC - Montgomery, we are particularly proud of having top quality faculty. We are careful to select new faculty who are accomplished scholars, devoted teachers, lifelong learners, and well rounded people.""
Three new English professors are joining the behavioral sciences, English, language, and speech (BELS) division. Joining the theatre, education, art, humanities, music, and math (TEAM) division, are three new faculty members. Also, joining LSC - Montgomery is an instructor and program coordinator for the college's newest program–emergency medical services.
The Physical Therapist Assistant program is also gaining a new faculty member. For more than five years, Linda Carlson has been an adjunct professor at LSC - Montgomery and a part-time lab coordinator for more than six years. Carlson received her bachelor's degree in physical therapy from the University of Nebraska and has worked in outpatient physical therapy for more than 22 years.
Vice President of Instruction at LSC - Montgomery, Dr. Julie Leidig, is very excited about the new faculty members hired this year. ""Each new faculty member brings a great deal of enthusiasm and a broad range of experience. We are all looking forward to a great first year with them,"" stated Leidig.
