On Saturday, March 27, teams of dedicated individuals are scheduled to meet at The Woodlands Mall in The Woodlands, Tx, to participate in the annual MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Stride and Ride.

In order to raise funds for the organization, several hundred participants are set to walk or ride in scooters, strollers and wheel chairs.

Starting at 8:00 a.m., participants should meet in the JCPenney court and the event is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.

An estimated 400 individuals participated in the event last year, making one lap around the interior of The Woodlands Mall.

John Pew, general manager of The Woodlands Mall, stated ""The MDA Stride and Ride is community event, and we are pleased to be able to host it for the fifth year. Through funds raised by teams at events such as this, MDA is able to provide families with support and also continue the needed research.""

Pew added, ""The shopping center is a perfect place for Stride and Ride – no matter what the weather.""

A voluntary health agency, The MDA is a dedicated partnership between concerned citizens and scientists targeting to conquer muscular dystrophy, which affects over a million Americans.
