The Memorial area of Houston, Texas is a wealthy district west of the Galleria. It is located west of River Oaks and Downtown Houston just north of The Galleria. Within it's boundaries is the area called "The Villages", which includes the cities of Bunker Hill Village, Hedwig Village, Spring Valley, Hilshire Village, Piney Point Village, and Hunters Creek Village.
These independent cities operate autonomously off Houston and have joint fire and police coverage. The surrounding parts of Houston in Memorial are called the "Near Villages".
Students in the Memorial area attend schools in the Spring Branch Independent School District, even though they live partially in Houston.
