Houston Gun Store to Open in Empty Retail Box

In this Circuit City, you may not want to hear "Clean up on aisle five."

At 3270 Gulf Freeway South in the League City Town Center in Houston, Tx, the Arms Room is buying the now-vacant electronics store.

The new store, at 20,000 square feet, is set to sell firearms and have a 15-lane indoor shooting range rated for pistols and rifles.

It may somewhat sound like a bowling alley.

"It is very similar. You're in a lane for an hour and you shoot to your heart's content. You just dont have to change your shoes," general manager Travis James stated.

At 107 Landing Blvd., the family is set to close its existing store when the new one opens later this year, in July.

For $2.8 million, the owners purchased the building and are set to spend another $2 million redesigning it.

They had a hard time getting a loan for improvements when considering leasing space.

James stated, "Financing was problematic without ownership in the building."
