The South Montgomery County YMCA in
The Woodlands, Tx is inviting the community inside for a fun-filled a neighborhood Open House this Saturday, January 9.
Several of us resolve to change our habits at the start of each New Year. Though many of us still get frustrated when the results don't come fast enough, leading many of us to fall off of our resolution plans, we know that change doesn't happen overnight.
"The key to helping those resolutions stick is making exercise and healthy living a habit. Research shows that a behavior change such as regular exercise takes at least six months to establish. Too many people focus on guilt after indulging during the holidays, but that is an ineffective way to inspire change," stated Gina Peterson, YMCA of Greater Houston Director of Health and Wellness.
In the city-wide Open House, the South Montgomery County YMCA is one of more than 30 YMCAs participating, supporting each other in a renewed commitment community-wide health.
This New Year, the YMCA Open House is a wonderful place to be active and learn more on how the YMCA can help you achieve your wellness goals.
At the YMCA this Saturday, free family fun will be available including balloon art, face art, climbing wall, fitness testing, games, refreshments, program information, giveaways, passport to wellness guides and so much more.
Be sure to wear your sneakers and come ready to experience the YMCA. On Saturday, all new members who join will receive two complimentary YMCA T-shirts and be eligible for the grand prize drawing, $100 gift card.
From 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the open house will be held at the South Montgomery County Branch Crossing YMCA, located at 8100 Ashlane Way.
