The Woodlands Hosts Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

On Monday, January 18, the 22nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Celebration in The Woodlands, Tx is scheduled for beginning at 12:00 p.m. at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, located at 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive.

Presenting the celebration is St. Paul Church in The Woodlands and Pastor Roche Coleman, Th.M. This event is sponsored by The Woodlands Development Company.

The commemorative tribute will be given by Dr. Austin Lane - President of Lone Star College - Montgomery, Commemorative Tribute Speaker. Lane holds a Master of Arts in Human Relations from The University of Oklahoma; a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Langston University; a Ph.D. in Psychology from Walden University; and Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama.

Highlights of the Martin Luther King celebration also include the Drum Major award, given yearly in recognition to a tremendous individual or business in Montgomery County. Winners of poster and essay contests for students in the Conroe Independent School District will also be announced.

The Woodlands United Methodist Church is located in The Woodlands, by amazing neighborhoods like Harper's Landing and Indian Springs.
