Woodlands to hand out Seedlings at Arbor Day

Celebrating the Arbor Day, and the 37th anniversary tradition, The Woodlands at Creekside Park village, will hand out 37,000 seedlings in 12 varieties as part of the festivities. The celebration will be January 31, at 10 am to 2 pm. There will also be inflatable rides and rock balls, pony rides, petting zoo, face painting, and Musical entertainment by local talents. Also, you will be able to say 'Hello' to 'Puffy', the Woodlands mascot. This is a free event.

Taste of the Town
Date to remember: Thursday, January 22, 'Taste of the Town is such a great fun occasion', says event chair, Sarah Rhea, of LJF Associates. This occasion there will be featuring 60 different restaurants; Hubbell & Hudson market bistro, La Torreta del Lago, among the new ones. This is a great event to sample our area's great restaurants' delicacies. Tickets: $ 20. per person.

The Woodlands Idol
The Woodlands Idol competition registration will take place this Saturday, at Baker St. Pub at 7.30 pm.

Sterling Bank to Open a Full-Service Banking Center in The Woodlands

Very soon, Sterling Bank will open a new full-service banking center at 1430 Research Forest Dr. in The Woodlands, Texas early this 2009. Research Forest between Pinecroft and Six Pines Rd. building that formerly was Wachovia Bank.
"We have an amazing number of loyal customers in The Woodlands who have been banking at our Houston-area locations," said Sterling's Chairman, President & CEO Downey Bridgewater. "We sincerely appreciate their patience. We've wanted to bring our style of banking to The Woodlands for some time and were in the middle of planning to build a banking center when we found this existing building on Research Forest," he said.
Sterling Bank is modifying the building to meet its needs and expects to be open for business by late this month. Besides Sterling's legendary personal bankers, the facility will have Commercial and Private Banking Departments, a 4-lane drive-through and 24-hour ATM.
