YMCA Family Fall Fun

Children and parents have frantic schedules, and today, families are pulled in several directions. With summer nearly over and the first day of school imminent, parents are looking for a secure place for their children to stay after school, and they are also wondering how they can get more involved in their children's activities. YMCA family programs like YMCA Early Child Development, Adventure Guides, YMCA After School, and Youth Sports search to support family ties, encourage core values and give parents unstressed options as children and teens get prepared for fall.
YMCA Marketing Director, Roxanne Davis, said "Time and money are at a premium, with an increasing number of families trying to do more with fewer resources. Offered in a nurturing and supportive environment, YMCA family programs help to provide a foundation of positive communication, teach positive parenting, mutual respect and create fond memories."
Also, the YMCA believes after school hours are a significant time for children and has intended values-based programs like YMCA After School that have demonstrated to advance school attendance, conduct and relationships with adults. The After School program is available at the majority of Conroe ISD elementary schools in South County including Birnham Woods Elementary and TISD's Creekside Forest Elementary. Davis stated "These state-licensed programs help children grow physically, mentally and spiritually while emphasizing and modeling character development values such as caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith."
The Woodlands' South Montgomery County YMCA offers Youth Sports; Performing Arts; Year-Round Aquatics; Gymnastics for ages 9 months-10 years; Tae Kwan Do for ages 6-adult; Adult Sports for ages 18 and older, Cooking classes for kids and adults; Weight Management programs for kids and adults; Small group trainings; Certification classes for CPR and First Aid.
