New Academic Dean Welcomed At LSC-Montgomery

Dr. Lawrence D. Brandyburg has been announced as the new academic dean over the theatre, education, arts, humanities, math, and music division at Lone Star College - Montgomery. Brandyburg brings to LSC-Montgomery a wealth of noteworthy achievements and an exceptional career in education and service.
Previously, Brandyburg taught courses on marriage and family, social psychology, and minority studies where he served as professor of sociology at LSC - Tomball for more than 10 years. Also, he executed the responsibility of department chair for the behavioral sciences department and worked as a special assistant to the vice president of instruction and student development.
Brandyburg understands the needs and concerns of faculty, as well as students as he has had a terrific career as a professor. Also, he is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and a strong advocate of math for all students.
Currently, Brandyburg serves on the board of trustees for Royal Independent School District and Waller County Appraisal District. He replaces Deborah Ellington, who is returning to the teach in the classroom after seven years as an academic dean.
