2009-10 Season Announced for LSC-Montgomery Theatre

The Lone Star College-Montgomery theatre season will include The Miss Firecracker Contest by Beth Henley, And They Dance Real Slow in Jackson by Jim Leonard, Jr., two Actors Workshop productions, and Rent with music, book, and lyrics by Jonathan Larson.

The theatre department has chosen an assortment of productions for the upcoming 2009-2010 season that will leave audience members in tears, laughter and seeing what is important between friends. The Actors Workshop series are specialized for the Performing Arts Lab at the college.

The students in the Actors Workshop series reduce the peripherals of costumes, sets, and lighting and concentrate on character growth. The season will also be comprised of two separate Actors Workshop productions. The Actors Workshop performances are built to offer audience members a more personal understanding with the play. The admission cost for the Actors Workshops are "pay what you will" backing the theatre productions and department. The fall workshop performance will take place November 19-21 and the spring workshop performance will take place February 18-20. Prices for tickets to shows are $10 for general admission, $7 for seniors, and $5 for students/staff/faculty.
